Describe The Mobile Spa in 10 words or less?

Convenience, Hygiene and Quality.

What inspired you to establish Bahrain's first mobile spa?

While working long hours in our banking careers, there were days when we craved such services. We used to dream of and discuss the idea of a mobile spa before finally deciding to do it ourselves. On starting the business, we soon realized that it wasn’t just working women who needed this service. Stay-at-home mums loved us, daughters bonding with their mothers and girlfriends, whilst having a treatment together were excited about us, kids inviting their friends to their birthday "sparty" were ecstatic about us, teens wanting to watch their favorite show or movie while having a manicure were happy with us, even the elderly, who often prefer not to move around too much, appreciated us! Basically we realized our mobile spa services are for anyone and everyone who like to pamper themselves. 

How does the mobile spa work? 

Just like a normal spa, the client calls for an appointment, only difference is that she gives us her address and we show up wherever she would like, home, office, function, or special event.

Do customers need to have any special equipment in their homes to avail of the service? 

No, all we need from the client is for them to be there. We bring with us all the necessary equipment and products. We also don’t settle for basics. For example, if a client requests a massage, we bring the massage bed, massage bed warmer, candles, aromatherapy, background music, to name a few. We create the spa atmosphere in her own environment and we leave that environment just as we came in: no mess, no fuss and no hassle for the client! 

How many therapists do you have?

Our team is growing as we speak; we meet each client's needs according to their requests. To provide example, this could be a manicure and pedicure as well as a massage for one customer, in which case we would send 2 expert therapists. If a request comes in for a "sparty" (parties providing beauty treatments for kids birthday parties, "girls night in", bridal showers and so on) or a corporate event, then we would normally send 4 therapists, depending on requirements, and then cater accordingly.

What treatments do you offer?

We offer a full menu of services.  In massages, our signature massage is the Lava Shell massage, we also offer aromatherapy, swedish, Thai massage and others. We offer body scrubs, wraps, manicures, pedicures, paraffin treatments, back facials, face and body waxing, haircuts and blow-dry.  We're also equipped with portable hair wash units incase a client requires that too.

What about hygiene? Should customers be concerned? 

Absolutely not. Hygiene is our upmost concern and a customer's right, not a privaledge. At The Mobile Spa we aim to be industry leaders in hygiene through practicing rigorous standards of client safety. Our commitment is evident through our use of an autoclave, which impeccably sterilises all our implements. An autoclave is a medical grade piece of equipment used by dentists and hospitals. Additionally, most of our tools are disposable, so customers are always the first and last to use them. Even our hand and foot paraffin treatment is a single use sanitary glove, which ensures a 100% sanitary solution.  We apply safety and hygiene standards at any cost, thereby offering reassurance and uncompromising safety for our clients.

How do prices compare with salon rates?

For everything our services offer, we really are competitively priced. First there's the high standards of hygiene we practice, along with the convenience of coming to the client, wherever they may be, with all the equipment required.  Traditional spas and salons tend to vary their prices depending on the service and quality they offer.

You just recently opened, but how has the business been received so far?

People are excited about the idea! We're additionally unique as a business in the spa industry because of a focus and use of social networking tools on-line. You can find us on facebook, twitter, we even have a blog, so response online has been immediate and very positive. People tell us how they've been waiting for something like this in Bahrain for some time now. Customers can find special offers, news, prices and services on-line, making the entire Mobile Spa experience all the more convenient.

Do you offer the mobile spa experience to all parts of the Kingdom?

We currently service most of Bahrain, the only areas we don't as yet service is Muharraq, Amwaj and some parts of Manama. Exceptions can be made for group events and sparties, however.
